Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STDs) and Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs) are very common. STDs are caused by STIs that have been passed from one person to another during sexual contact. If you have been sexually active you may already have a STI and not know it. Once an STI produces symptoms it is then referred to as an STD. If you have had sexual contact without using condoms or other barriers, your risk is heightened.
The Care Net Pregnancy Center of the EUP can help answer your questions about STIs, explain how to reduce your chances of contracting an STI, and provide STI information. All of our services are provided at no cost and are confidential.
